Locality Ca 3 air mi W of Pilot Peak, on S-facing slope of W-trending ridge, on E side of USFS Rd 22N60 ca 0.1 mi S of the Pacific Crest Trail crossing.

HabitatOn S-facing slope of W-trending ridge, on E side of [road]. In open Red fir/Jeffrey pine forest, in stony opening with other plants usually found at lower elevations, such as Quercus kelloggii, Calocedrus decurrens, Ceanothus integerrimus, and Helianthella californica, as well as Bromus orcuttianus, Monardella odoratissima subsp. pallida, and Aster oregonensis. Petals rose colored, narrow, then flared to 4 long narrow lobes.
