HabitatMixed coniferous forest. Common shrub at the ranger station, where the type was collected by Alice East-wood and John Thomas Howell (Leaflets of Western Bot. 3:124. 1942). The plant is common throughout this part of the North Coast Ranges from at least Shasta and Trinity counties southward.
