HabitatOpen south-facing decomposed granite road cutbank in mixed conifer forest of Ponderosa pine, black oak, tanoak, canyon live oak, madrone; deerbrush, green-leaf manzanita; Gilia capitata, Eriophyllum lanatum, Monardella sheltonii. Flowers magenta, most wilted at 2:00 pm; about 1000-2000 plants here.
