Locality Plumas National Forest. West-facing slope above Road 24N29Y; ca 0.4 mi northwest of Haskins Creek, ca 1.5 mi east-southeast of Bucks Lake.

HabitatBare forest floor in white fir forest; +/-open in the afternoon. West-facing slope. Flowers yellow-orange; stem white or with hint of pink; only the top 2-3 cm of the inflorescence protruding above the ground; no roots but dense, mycelium-ramified block of soil present at base of the stem.
