HabitatIn canyon on N and S-facing slopes; with Opuntia, Rhus, Quercus, Pinus monophylla, Juniperus, Keckiella, Cowania, Bromus, etc. Shrubby, small tree with several smooth grey stems from base or with 1 trunk to 7 m tall, filaments white, anthers yellow, rest yellow-green, frequent in narrow canyon.
