Locality Great Basin, Modoc Plateau. Along County Road 512 16.9 road-km south from Surprise Valley Road towards Tuledad Canyon; in a small northwestern drainage into Post Canyon.

HabitatIn generally wet meadow gently sloping to southeast through low sagebrush and juniper rocky slopes; very clayey soil. Meadow heavily trampled by cattle when it was wetter. Flowers large, bright yellow.
