HabitatLoose, light-med. brown soil with some rocks; on a bench at the base of a 25% slope. Open yellow pine forest with sagebrush; black oaks are the most common tree species in the immediate vicinity. Asssociates: Bromus tectorum, Achillea millefolium, Elymus sp., and Phacelia heterophylla subsp. virgata.
