Locality Sacramento Valley. N of Elder Creek, ca 0.26 mi W of the town of Gerber. In distrubed open area W of the railroad tracks and E of the Tehama-Colusa Canal, on flat to undulating grassland between vernal pools and swales.

HabitatIn drying, low-lying site in old SE-trending ditch, with Bermudagrass. Main stems very tall and erect. Flowers dried, pale (whitish). Basal lvs dried and falling.
