HabitatMostly open (burned over) forest of Douglas-fir, western white pine, lodgepole pine, incense cedar; low shrub layer well-developed, mostly 6-12 dm high; rocky serpentine on rounded ridge top. Ray flowers bright white, few; disc flowers yellow; plants with several stems from buried caudex.
