HabitatSteep slopes, loamy, sandy gravel. Ssociates: Quercus agrifolia, Pinus sabiniana, Adenostoma fasciculatum, Lotus scoparium, Eriodictyon spp., Salvia columbara, S.mellifera, Lupinus benthamii, L. Hirsuimus. Locally common. Nnual. Ascending,to 20 cm tall. Inflorescence silky-hairy, no involucre. Corolla pink and wine.
