HabitatRocky gravelly shallow soil -- per-idotite/ultramafic/serpentine. Serpentine chaparral -- Arctostaphylos viscida subsp. pulchella, Quercus durata, occasional Pinus sabiniana, Styrax officinalis, Garrya; lots of bare rocky ground. Plants growing +-erect up through low shrubs.
