Locality Northern High Sierra Nevada. Plumas National Forest; mid-slope North Fork Feather River canyon 0.8 air km west-northwest of Cresta Powerhouse, along Camp Creek Road 0.2 road km northeast of Dixie Road.

HabitatSteep north-facing slope; soft granite-derived soil, not very rocky but probably fairly shallow; filtered sun shrough mixed conifer forest (black oak, Douglas-fir, incense cedar, Ponderosa pine); with Poa sierrae, Toxicodendron diversilobum, Carex multicaulis, Pteridium aquilinum, Melica harfordii. Plants forming small tufts of culms.
