HabitatDensely cespitose. Most plants in road ditch, but a few in Darlingtonia fen above and below road. Opening in mixed conifer forest with Calocedrus, Pinus ponderosa, Juniperus occidentalis. Associated species: Darlingtonia californica, Juncus, Tofieldia, Hastingsia, Carex luzulina, Carex hassei, Carex interior, Carex pellita, Carex amplifolia.
