Habitat | Open rocky serpentine ridge top, more open than usual since the 2008 wildfire; lots of Eriodictyon californicum stump-sprouted, Frangula californica subsp. tomentella, some Ceanothus cuneatus in places; with Eriophyllum lanatum, Achnatherum lemmonii, Festuca microstachys, Elymus elymoides, Lessingia nemaclada, occasional Eriogonum umbellatum var. ahartii, Streptanthus polygaloides; near to a small isolated stand of McNab cypress (burned but lots of young trees). Ray flowers bright golden-yellow; plants common. |
