HabitatSmall area of serpentine, northwest-facing slope; rocky and clayey; open areas with scattered manzanita, gray pine; Eriophyllum lanatum var. achilleoides and Lomatium marginatum var. purpureum and Lagophylla minor are abundant. Plants occasional; flowers dark lavender/magenta.
