|Locality||Southern Sierra Nevada Range: Piute Mountains, lower Esperanza Canyon at eastern base of Sorrell Peak and western edge of Kelso Valley.|
|Habitat||Alluvial flats and moderate to steep slopes, granitic substrate with large boulder outcrops, loose decomposed granite soils. Vegetation recently burned (2006 or 2007), formerly dominated by scrub of Artemisia tridentata, Chrysothamnus nauseosus, Yucca brevifolia on flats, drier slopes scrubby woodland of Pinus sabiniana, P. monophylla, Quercus wislizenii, Q. chrysolepis, Fremontodendron californicum, etc. Annual, corolla lobes bluish violet, upper throat white grading to yellow, tube purple. Common.|
