Locality Northern High Sierra Nevada. Plumas National Forest; top of Bloomer Hill. In areas where mixed conifer forest has been greatly thinned and the resulting understory shrubs have been cleared several years ago.

HabitatIn areas where mixed conifer forest has been greatly thinned and the resulting understory shrubs have been cleared several years ago; mixed conifer forest dominated by ponderosa pine and black oak; substrate of metamorphic rock; common shrubs are deerbrush, poison oak, bracken, toyon, black oak stump sprouts, white-leaf manzanita, Lemmon's ceanothus. Ray flowers bright white, spreading; disk nflowers yellow; stems erect.
