Locality Northern High Sierra Nevada. North side of Little Grass Valley Reservoir about 5.8 air km north of La Porte; southeast edge of a knoll that trends southward to the lake; about 5010 m above high water line.
Elevation 1542 m
HabitatSouth-facing slope, hanging meadow/fen; partial shade from lodgepole pine and Jeffrey pine, but the whole meadow surrounded by white fir dominated forest (plus Ponderosa pine, incense cedar). Grassy sedgy (especially Carex angustata) soggy, the soggiest places dominated by Philonotis fontana (especially with Drosera rotundifolia and Carex capitata). Occasional spindly shrubs 12-14 dm tall; leaves relatively large, a rich-green color; fruits relatively large,dark, 2-seeded.
