Habitat | Small grassy openings in north-facing slopes, forest of red fir and white fir, openings mostly caused by past logging activities; openings also with moutain white thorn, bitter cherry, thimbleberry, Sierra gooseberry. Often growing with Stipa occidentalis, Bromus orcuttianus, Elymus glaucus, Melica aristata, Carex specifica. Plants common, forming small tufts; inflorescences +- contracted and drooping. | ||||
