|Locality||Northern High Sierra Nevada. Plumas National Forest; at head of East Branch Slate Creek; along the road to Johnsville (Road 900; Road 22N12X) 7.7 road km east of Quincy-La Porte road; 0.8 air km west-northwest of Mt. Etna.|
|Habitat||Large south-sloping opening dominated by Wyethia Mollis (opening in white fir dominated mixed conifer forest, including Jeffrey pine, incense cedar). Thin soil over finely-bedded shale bedrock and outcrops. Rounded subshrubs 5-10 cm tall not counting the inflorescences; flowers bright yellow aging red-orange; common here.|
