Locality Northern High Sierra Nevada. 430m (air) SW of turn to Onion Valley Reservoir canping area; 22km NE of La Porte on La Porte Quincy Rd. Locally abundant on and above cliffs above La Porte Quincy Rd on reddish rock.

HabitatLocally abundant on and above cliffs above La Porte Quincy Rd on reddish rock- apparently not serpentine. Full sun, growing on flat ground in little soil and in cracks on outcrops. Growing near Eriogonum ursinum, Penstemon deustus, Penstemon newberryi.
