Locality High North Coast Ranges. Northwest edge of large rock outcrop on north side of Black Butte, 0.4 km north of the top.
Elevation 2114 m
HabitatStable rocky scree at base of the side of the rock outcrop/cliff; hard, dark, metamorphic rock. Open with scattered red fir, western white pine; plus Arctostaphylos nevadensis, Prunus emarginata, Holodiscus, but lots of bare rocky soil around larger rocks. These plants are low shrubs 4-5 dm high, intricately and stiffly branched.
