Locality Tomstone Mountain. Found on limestone and meta-sedimentary outcrop and cliff features. UTM NAD 83 Zone 10N; 0562238E, 4544379N.

HabitatFound on limestone and meta-sedimentary outcrop and cliff features in montane chaparral habitat. Plants are scattered in the outcrops, growing in small clumps of several plants or as single individuals on southerly and westerly aspects. 300-500 plants observed. Most plants are growing in cracks on nearly vertical rock and occasionally in other soil pockets. Associated species include Pseudotsuga menziesii, Acer macrophyllum, Garrya fremontii, Quercus garrana subsp. breweri, Quercus vaccinifolia, Arctostaphylos viscida, Philadelphus lewisii, Cercis occidentalis, Holodiscus discolor, Ceanothus integerrimus, Eriogonum sp., Galium bolanderi, Galium grayanum, Erysimum capitatum, Pellaea mucronata, Lomatium dissectum, Keckiella breviflora, Minuartia nuttallii, Arabis breweri, and Chaenactis douglasii.
