HabitatSoutheast slopes of Tamarack Mountain on metasedimentary rock outcrops and cliffs. 125 plants observed growing in rock crevices along cliff faces. Associated species include Quercus vaccinifolia, Arctostaphylos patula, Garrya fremontii, Epilobium canum, Eriogonum sp., Penstemon azureus, Penstemon newberryi, Arabis breweri, Ericameria sp., Eriogonum nudum, Phacelia sp., Potentilla glandulosa, Polygala cornuta, Eriophyllum lanatum, Gilia capitata, Lomatium dissectum, Allium campanulatum, Calyptridium umbellatum, Achnatherum lemmonii, and Elymus elymoides.
