HabitatFlat meadow around spring; opening in mixed conifer forest (Ponderosa pine; incense cedar, sugar pine, white fir) surrounded by bush chinquapin, Douglas spiraea, bracken; with areas of spiraea also in the meadow; also Veratrum californicum, Carex luzulina, C. echinata, Perideridia.
