HabitatSilty alkaline loam in nearly flat valley between low hills. Perennial grasslands and old fields along alkaline vernal creek. Associated with Sporobolus ai., Cressa t., Frankensia s., Distichlis, Salix, Baccharis sal. and many herbs and weeds. In moist soil on drying creek margins among dense herbs, between old fields.
