Locality Santa Rosa Mountains SSW of Palm Desert. Along Carrizo Rd just N of Hwy 74

HabitatOpen flat between boulder piles, crossed by sandy wash. 12 deg. slope, fasing S. Mesozoic quartz diorite. Sand and gravel soil, 10 YR 3/2 very dark grayish brown. Creosote bush-juniper scrub on rolling rocky hills. With Ambrosia salsola, Ziziphus parryi, Baccharis brachyphylla, Cylindropuntia ganderi, Hilaria rigida, Senegalia greggii, Yucca schidigera, Larrea tridentata, Eriogonum fasciculatum, Bahiopsis parishii, Ericameria linerifolia, Ephedra, Phoradendron californica, Juniperus, Rhus ovata, Aristida purpurea, Chamaesyce setiloba, Chamaesyce micromera, Krameria cf. erecta, Dasyochloa pulchella, Sporobolus, Amaranthus fimbriatus, Mollugo cerviana, Muhlenbergia porteri, Pectis papposa var. papposa.
