HabitatHills of older quaternary alluvium, apparently wash carried, rounded stones, gravel and sand, bedded with alternating layers of coarse and fine material; at point where an arroyo is blocked by roadbed, seasonally ponded site; silty clay on bed of former pool; assoc. with Larrea, Ambrosia dum., Yucca sch., Fouquieria, Asclepias sub., Encelia far., Psorothamnus sch., Krameria ere., Bebbia j., Baccharis brac., Adenophyllum por., Simmondsia, Cylindropuntia munzii, C. bigel., Echonocactus pol., Senegalia, Sphaeralcea amb., and many herbs -- Euphorbia eiantha, E. polyc., Phalaris, Muhlenbergia micro., Erodium cic., Schismus ar., Lepidium lasio., Plantago ov., Pectocarya, Eriastrum ere., Lotus strig., etc. Growing on moist bed of former pool.
