Locality Eastern edge of city of Woodland, city property. N of Gibson Rd extension on E side of Pole Line Rd (Cty Rd 102); N of sewer plant (formerly evaporation ponds)

HabitatArea recently used as borrow pit for raised soil slab prepared for Woodland-Davis water treatment plant construction; soil is Pescadero silty clay, saline, alkaline soil, high in salts and boron. Water table is high; drainage ditches are filled with water. Plants (from seedbank): Atriplex rosea, Amaranthus albus, Crypsis, Heliotropium, Sesuvium verrucosum, Chenopodium rubrum.

macromorphologyVery common annual herb with succulent lobed leaves ranging in color from yellow to dark green. Infl. with noticeable bracts among the flowers. Sepals do not have noticeable tube connecting them; leaves are nearly glabrous on underside (so not C. macrospermum).
