Habitat | Relatively gentle ridgetop with deep friable adobe soil, southerly slopes gravelly, grading into very barren areas of dark, highly weathered volcanic substrate with very thin soil. Ridgetop and more mesic exposures with open woodland of Quercus douglasii and Juniperus californica, xeric slopes more open with scattered Juniperus, Chrysothamnus nauseous, Eriogonum fasciculatum var. polifolium, Ribes quercetorum and Penstemon centranthifolius. Mostly on mesic exposures. | ||||||
