Locality Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden; San Emigdio Range; Pleitto Hills region, San Emigdio Rach, ridge on west side of Pleito Canyonapproximately 4.5 air miles due north of Antimony Peak.

HabitatRelatievely gentl ridgetop with deep, friable adobe soil, southerly slopes gravelly, grading into very barreen areas of dark, highly weathered volcanic substrate with very thin soil. Ridgetop and more mesic exposures with open woodland of Quercus donglasii and Juniperus californica, xeric slopes more open with scatered juniperus, Chysothamnus nauseosus, Eriogonum fasiculatum car. polifolium, Ribes quercetorum, and Penstemon centranthifolius. Common on heavy adobe soil over dark volbanic outcrop.
