HabitatLimestone outcrop growing next to creek on a partially shaded, east facing, sandy slope in soil derived from metamorphic rock. Associates: Abies magnifica, Achnatherum occidentalis ssp. californicum, Cymopterus terebinthinus var. californicus, Delphinium nuttallianum, Monardella odoratissima, Phacelia hastata ssp. compacta, P. hydrophylloides, Pinus contorta ssp. murrayana, P. monticola and Ribes montigenum.
