Locality Cache Creek Wilderness area, northern part of wilderness near Redbud trail. NW side of Cache Creek, W of Baton Flat and opposite Deadman's Canyon and the Rapids

HabitatInteresting checkerboard of soil types that looks like a mix of serpentine alluvium - fine grained gravel deposits in sedimentary soils. Mix of serpentine grassland and blue oak woodland each with associated flora. E-facing slopes that drain to Cache Creek. Present under blue oaks on shady outcrop that is serpentine-influenced, but also on serpentine outcrops. Ca. 10,000 plants growing on SW-facing slopes with Micropus, Madia gracilis, Allium and close to Astragalus rattenei jepsonianus.
