HabitatMixed conifer forest with Pinus contorta, P. ponderosa, P. monticola, Tsuga mertensiana, Abies magnifica, Arctostaphylos nevadensis, Leucothoe davisiae, Chrysolepis sempervirens, Vaccinium caespitosum, Prunus subcordata. At stream bank in partial shade. Granitic bedrock, loam soil.

macromorphologyOccasional. Clonal deciduous shrub to ca. 25 cm tall; young stems narrow, pale dull green, more or less angled, at least partly through decurrent groove on either side of petiole base; old stems reddish brown, some thickened with transverse fissures (diseased); leaves pale dull green; flowers pendent; corolla white, ca. as long as wide; style exserted.
