macromorphologyCommon. Branches from the base decumbent or ascending, anthocyanous, with closely appressed pubescence; lvs. bright green, +- anthocyanous margin; sepals reflexed in opposite pairs, the members of pairs connivent at tips; corolla erect, light lavender rose to very pale lavender rose in age; stamens 8, 4 long (opposite sepals) and 4 short (opposite petals) at summit of hypanthium, glabrous except for puberulence on connective of anther; anthers linear-oblong, dehiscent from obtuse apex all the way (eventually) to base; hypanthium with ring of hairs just below middle, obconic; petals cuneate-deltoid, erosulate, regularly convolute in age, glabrous, without eye but paler toward base; stigma lobes deltoid; capsule cylindrical, slightly arcuate, prominently 8-ribbed; buds erect; diurnal.
