|Locality||Mojave Desert. East Mojave Desert region. Brown Buttes area at northwestern end of Marble Mountains, on road to microwave towers east of Kelbaker Road, just south of Interstate 40.|
|Habitat||Sandy wash, rocky upper alluvial fan and lower rocky slopes dominated by volcanic substrates. Vegetation on slopes and fan an open scrub of Larrea tridentata and Ambrosia dumosa. Wash dominated by Psorothamnus spinosus, Ericameria paniculata, Acacia greggii, and Ambrosia salsola. Area with significant number of summer annuals, including Amaranths fimbriatus, Aristida adsencionis, Boerhavia, Bouteloua barbata, Bouteloua aristoides, Euphorbia spp., and Pectis papposa, but also dense growth of young winter annuals, especially Camissonia brevipes and Plantago ovata. On alluvial fan, areas of sandy soils.|
