Misapplied name (fide Hillis, 1959: 363):

INDIAN OCEAN DISTRIBUTION: Cargados Carajos, Madagascar, Maldives, Tanzania (Zanzibar).

Note: Tanzania (Zanzibar) is included in the distribution on the basis of specimens in UC collected by Papenfuss and Scagel and determined by Hillis-Colinvaux. In addition, specimens from Kenya and Mozambique have been referred to this species with a query.
