Note: A collection allegedly from Isipingo in Natal was recorded by O. Schmidt (1923: 47) and P. Silva (1951: 96) as Codium fragile. While the material upon which these records are based is referable to C. fragile subsp. capense, undoubtedly it was collected in Cape Province rather than in Natal.
