Note: Coppejans & Meinesz (1988: 186) placed Caulerpa qureshii in the synonymy of C. veravalensis Thivy & Chauhan, but Shameel & Shaukat (1992), on the basis of a statistical analysis of morphological and ecological characters of these species together with a third similar species, C. manorensis Nizamuddin, concluded that the three species are distinct. Their analysis also indicated that C. manorensis and C. qureshii are more similar to each other than they are to C. veravalensis.
