INDIAN OCEAN DISTRIBUTION: India, Laccadive Islands, Madagascar, Mauritius, St. Paul Island, Seychelles.

Note: The synonymy was proposed by Bliding (1963: 127). Ulva bertolonii, the intended basionym of Enteromorpha bertolonii, is a superfluous substitute name for Ulva crispata and hence not priorable. Enteromorpha bertolonii Montagne must be considered a nomen novum rather than a new combination. It also is illegitimate, however, since Montagne was obligated to restore the epithet crispata.
