Note: The synonymy was proposed by Bliding (1963: 73–79). Conferva flexuosa Roth, the intended basionym of Enteromorpha flexuosa, is not priorable since it is a later homonym of C. flexuosa O.F. Müller (1782) (Cladophora flexuosa (O.F. Müller) Kützing (q.v.)). Ulva flexuosa Wulfen is treated as a nomen novum in accordance with Art. 58.3.
