Note: Dictyota hauckiana is a substitute name for D. atomaria Hauck, a later homonym of D. atomaria (Woodward) Greville (1830) (Taonia atomaria (Woodward) J. Agardh (q.v.)). According to Prof. R. Schnetter (pers. comm.), D. hauckiana is not representative of Dictyota, the type specimen having rows of apical cells.
