Note: The name Dictyopteris longifolia has not been validly published. When introduced by Stephenson (l.c.), it was said to apply to a species that ranged from Umpangazi, Natal to Jeffreys Bay, eastern Cape Province, South Africa. Possible relationships with D. dichotoma (Kuntze) O. Schmidt and D. ligulata (Suhr) O. Schmidt are discussed in the notes to those species.
