Note: The conspecificity of Chondria corynephora and Laurencia clavata was proposed by J. Agardh (1876: 643). Corallopsis australasica is included as a synonym on the authority of Womersley (pers. comm.). In transferring that species to Corynecladia, J. Agardh illegitimately changed the epithet from australasica to umbellata.
