Note: Hollenberg (1968c: 556) reduced Herposiphonia secunda to the rank of a form of H. tenella. Because Hutchinsia secunda C. Agardh (1824: 149), the basionym of Herposiphonia secunda, is older than Hutchinsia tenella, the relationship of the two taxa was reversed by Wynne (1985b: 173).
