IOC entry for Halydictyon australe

Previous entry: Halopithys incurva

Halydictyon Zanardini

Note: The original spelling of this generic name was altered by Montagne (1847b: 53) to Halodictyon, a form used by all subsequent workers. There is no justification for this change. Halydictyon has been assigned with uncertainty to Rhodomelaceae (Kylin, 1956) and Dasyaceae (Feldmann, 1941; Coppejans, 1975; R. Norris, 1992c). Børgesen (1954a: 49, fig. 21) and R. Norris (1992c: 67, fig. 6, labeled Halydictyon mirabile) recorded an unnamed species from Mauritius and Natal, respectively.
