Note: P. Silva & Cleary (1954: 251, 258, 259, fig. 26a) examined an isotype of Sarcomenia intermedia (from FH) and reported their results under the binomial Platysiphonia intermedia, but the intended combination was invalid since they did not give a full citation of the basionym and thus failed to satisfy Art. 33.2.
