Note: Nitophyllum erosum is a substitute name for N. fimbriatum Harvey, a later homonym of N. fimbriatum Greville (in Saint-Hilaire, 1833: 447; type locality: Brazil), which according to Oliveira (1977: 120) is a taxonomic synonym of Cryptopleura ramosa (Hudson) Kylin ex Newton (1931: 332) (Ulva ramosa Hudson, 1762: 476; type locality: Lancashire, England), a species not recorded from the Indian Ocean.

Addendum: Myriogramme erosa has been assigned to Haraldiophyllum by Millar & Huisman (1996)
