Note: Caloglossa zanzibariensis (Goebel) De Toni (1900: 731) (Delesseria zanzibariensis Goebel, 1898: 67, figs. 1–6; type locality: Kibaoni River north of Mkokotoni, Zanzibar) was placed in the synonymy of C. ogasawaraensis by Okamura (1903b: 130). Goebel's plant grew in fresh water, however, and there are no reports from brackish or salt water. Caloglossa bombayensis was proposed as a synonym of C. ogasawaraensis by Tseng (1945: 163).
