Note: The synonymy was suggested by Chamberlain (1983: 359) and confirmed by Penrose & Woelkerling (1991: 496). V. Krishnamurthy & H. Joshi (1970: 19) erroneously credited M. Balakrishnan (1947) with recording Melobesia lejolisii from India.
